We are all extremely proud of Crusaid and the work that's being done to give help and hope to those affected by HIV and AIDS whilst living in desperate poverty.

But there's so much more to be done - and we can only do it with your support. That's why we're asking you to consider setting up a regular gift in to Crusaid.

Where the money goes

Since 1986, the Crusaid Hardship Fund has given out over 47,500 small individual grants, providing urgently needed financial assistance to 1 in 3 people diagnosed with HIV in the UK. All too often, the Crusaid Hardship Fund is simply the only place where people who have been forced into poverty by HIV or AIDS can turn to for support. And with the combination of a harsh winter and rising living costs - particularly fuel and transport - the charity is seeing a huge increase in applications, each representing someone in deep personal crisis who just needs a small helping hand to get themselves back on track.

Crusaid also works internationally with 4 successful Points of Light community centres in South Africa and new centres being established in Namibia and Zambia. By providing simple solutions based on the community's needs - be it a soup kitchen or care for children orphaned by AIDS - and by ensuring that access to medicine, education and welfare support is available, these centres offer the opportunity for entire communities to lift themselves out of poverty in some of the poorest and most HIV prevalent areas in southern Africa.

The impact and life-changing nature of Crusaid's work continues to astonish and inspire us all on a daily basis. For so many with HIV or AIDS who are experiencing poverty, isolation and stigma, Crusaid is often the sole source of hope.
